A Symbol of Family Warmth: Workshop on Creating a Traditional Ukrainian Doll Held in Estonia

On April 24, 2025, a special workshop took place at the Ukrainian Centre in Estonia, where participants created traditional Ukrainian family dolls — symbols of kinship, protection, and dreams. This event offered a deep immersion into the rich culture and craftsmanship of Ukraine.
Under the attentive guidance of Inna Yurchenko, a talented craftswoman from Zaporizhzhia, participants handcrafted protective dolls using only natural materials and traditional techniques. Each doll became not only a beautiful home decoration but also a powerful symbol of family warmth and safety.
The workshop brought together women of different ages, who enthusiastically engaged in the creative process, shared stories and experiences. It became not just an artistic activity, but a meaningful way to preserve and pass down cultural traditions to future generations.
If you missed the workshop but wish to create your own family doll, feel free to write to info@ukrainakeskus.ee — the organizers will gladly repeat the event for those interested.

Our wonderful vocal group "Dzhereltse", uniting Ukrainian children in Pärnu, has joyfully wrapped up the academic year and is heading into summer break — with songs in our hearts and smiles on our faces! ☀️
Over the past eight amazing months, we’ve gone from magical Christmas concerts to energetic spring performances, covering the entire school year. We grew together — as a group, as friends, and as a creative family.
New faces joined along the way, but the heart of the group remained strong, inspired, and full of energy.
Thanks to our talented kids, concert halls light up, audiences feel every beat, and our songs become bridges between cultures. ❤️
Estonian listeners love your voices, and that fuels our passion even more!
We can’t wait to see you all again in September for a new season of professional rehearsals.
You’re amazing, creative, and full of spirit!
A special thank-you to Maryna Bykovets-Ratushna, the heart and soul of this group.
With her dedication, time, and belief in us, she’s taught us to love both Ukrainian and Estonian songs, making the dream of a children’s choir in little Pärnu come true. 🎤
